Move from scattered records to a structured arbitration workflow
Arbitration on Demand is designed to bring claim, remittance, coverage, encounter, and supporting medical documentation into one guided process. Your team reviews the available information, supplies anything missing, and submits the matter to Callagy Recovery for further evaluation.
Collect
Bring together available Epic data, 837 claim information, 835 remittance details, and supporting documents.
Review
Organize the facts needed for a preliminary arbitration qualification review and identify missing information.
Submit
Send a structured case package to Callagy Recovery and track the matter through the agreed workflow.
A repeatable process for every client organization
Arbitration on Demand is designed as a multi-tenant platform. Each client organization receives its own authorized access, configuration, users, and data boundaries while using the same centrally managed application.
- Client signs an agreement with Callagy Recovery.
- Callagy Recovery provisions the client’s secure tenant and users.
- The client’s Epic administrator activates the approved integration, when applicable.
- Authorized users submit claims and supporting information.
- Callagy Recovery reviews and processes submitted matters under the applicable engagement.
Connect or upload
Use approved Epic connectivity where available, or upload claim, remittance, and document files through the secure portal.

Receive next-step guidance
View missing items, preliminary workflow indicators, and the next action required to move the matter forward.
Support the data sources your clients already use
Epic is one intake channel—not the entire product. Arbitration on Demand can be designed to support several approved methods of providing the information needed for review.
Epic integration
Retrieve authorized patient, encounter, coverage, billing, and document information through supported Epic interfaces.
837 and 835 files
Accept structured claim and remittance files when the complete data is not available through the EHR connection.
Medical records
Collect approved PDFs, clinical documents, diagnostic reports, and other supporting materials.
Secure manual entry
Allow authorized users to add or correct information that cannot be obtained electronically.
Hosted by Callagy Recovery, launched from the client workflow
The application is hosted and maintained by Callagy Recovery. When configured by an Epic customer, authorized users may launch the application from Epic and pass approved patient or encounter context into the workflow.
Shared implementation responsibilities
Callagy Recovery: hosts the application, provides application registration information, maintains the tenant, and supports the workflow.
Client organization: approves the use case, activates the application in its Epic environment, grants approved access, and completes its security and testing process.
Information the workflow may use
Actual access depends on the client’s approved implementation, system capabilities, and the minimum information necessary for the engagement.
| Category | Examples | Possible source |
|---|---|---|
| Patient and encounter | Identifiers, dates of service, facility, department, providers | Epic FHIR or approved client feed |
| Claim information | Claim identifiers, service lines, CPT/HCPCS, revenue codes, charges | 837, Epic revenue-cycle interface, clearinghouse, or upload |
| Remittance information | Paid amount, allowed amount, CARC/RARC, patient responsibility, adjustments | 835, payer or clearinghouse data, or upload |
| Coverage and payer | Plan, subscriber, policy, group, coverage dates | Epic FHIR, claim file, or client-provided data |
| Medical documentation | Operative notes, emergency records, diagnostic reports, discharge summaries | Epic document APIs, secure upload, or approved record feed |
Designed for controlled healthcare data exchange
The production implementation should apply the administrative, physical, and technical safeguards required by the parties’ agreements and applicable law.
- Encrypted transmission over HTTPS/TLS
- Encryption of protected data at rest
- Role-based access and least-privilege permissions
- Tenant-level data separation
- Audit logging and access monitoring
- Defined retention and secure deletion procedures
Important implementation note
Epic connectivity is enabled separately by each Epic customer. Registering or listing an application does not grant automatic access to a healthcare organization’s Epic environment or patient information.
Availability of claim, remittance, and document data varies by organization and may require additional interfaces beyond standard FHIR APIs.
